Martin Brussig works at the Institute for Work and Qualification (IAQ), University of Duisburg-Essen, where he was appointed Associate Professor in 2016. He studied sociology and history at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the New School of Social Research in New York and received his doctorate at the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena. His work focuses on issues of labour market research, labour market policy and retirement. Martin Brussig is a member of the board of the German Association for Social Science Labor Market Research (SAMF) and the Interdisciplinary Center for Integration and Migration Research (InZentIM) at the University of Duisburg-Essen.

Dominik Postels is currently a research assistant in the fields of population and social affairs at the Office for Statistics, Urban Research and Elections of the City of Essen. From 2014 to 2018, he was a research assistant in the research department »Working hours and work organisation« at the Institute for Work and Qualification (IAQ) at the University of Duisburg-Essen, where he researched inequalities in employment, working hours and determinants of employment. Dominik Postels completed his studies in sociology at the University of Duisburg-Essen.

Lina Zink is a labour market Sociologist at the Institute for Work and Qualification (IAQ) at the University of Duisburg-Essen. After studying history and sociology at the Ruhr University Bochum, she joined the IAQ in 2010. In various research projects she dealt with (long-term) unemployment of older people, employment of pensioners as well as issues of old-age provision and reduced earning capacity.
