Klaus Mathis studied economics and law at the University of Zurich, where he also wrote his dissertation on »Efficiency instead of Justice? In Search of the Philosophical Foundations of the Economic Analysis of Law«. He then worked in Bern as a research assistant at the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). In 2004, he first became Senior Lecturer in Public Law and then Assistant Professor in Public Law at the University of Lucerne. He wrote his habilitation on »Sustainable Development and Intergenerational Justice. Legal, Economic, and Philosophical Perspectives«. He was appointed Full Professor for Public Law, Law of the Sustainable Economy, and Philosophy of Law on 1 August 2016.
Luca Langensand studied law at the University of Lucerne and earned the Master of Law in 2010. He then worked at the University of Lucerne as a research assistant and as a tutor in Constitutional Law. From 2013 to 2017 he worked as a research assistant at the chair of Prof. Dr. Klaus Mathis in the fields of Public Law as well as Legal and Political Philosophy. He is writing his dissertation entitled »Enlightened Anarchism: What Can We Learn from the Anarchist Critique of the State, the Law and Authority?«, supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
