Hans Herbert von Arnim is a lawyer and economist. After completing a doctorate in Employment Law in Heidelberg, he headed up the Research Institute of the German Association of Taxpayers in Wiesbaden. He completed a postdoctoral qualification in Public Law, Financial Law and Tax Law, taught in Marburg and moved to Speyer in 1981 thanks to the reputation of the ›Deutsche Universität für Verwaltungswissenschaften Speyer‹ (German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer), where he continues to teach and research despite having reached a pensionable age. He was rector of the university from 1993 to 1995. He specializes in fundamental issues of state and society, but this does not rule out direct involvement in politics.
