Matthias Fahrner, JD, is a judge, former ministerial counsellor and lecturer at the University of the Saarland. He worked as associate professor in Criminal Law and Procedure at the University of Konstanz and lecturer at a state academy of police. He was deputy president of a district court chamber, prosecutor and attorney. He also served in many functions in state and federal executive and legislative institutions, e.g. as first secretary of a special commission of a state parliament, envoy of the state of Baden-Württemberg to the Federal Parliament and as a deputy head of a division of the Federal Ministry of Justice. He is a German delegate to the European Judges Association MEDEL.
