Florian Zeitner studied law with a focus on European and international law at the University of Bayreuth and the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg. During his studies, he spent time abroad at a law firm in the Santa Catarina region of Brazil and at the EKD representation to the European Union in Brussels. After completing the First State Examination in Law in 2018, he worked as a research assistant at the chair of Prof. Dr. Bernhard W. Wegener in Erlangen. For his doctoral research on a topic of international environmental law, he was awarded a scholarship of the German Federal Environmental Foundation (Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt, DBU).
