Maik Knaust studied law at the Georg August University of Göttingen. During his studies and after graduating, he worked for several years at the Institute of International and European Law for Prof. Dr. Anja Seibert-Fohr, Judge of the European Court of Human Rights, and Prof. Dr. Andreas L. Paulus, Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court (ret.). As part of his doctoral project, he was a speaker at an expert discussion of a parliamentary group in the German Bundestag. Following his legal clerkship, which included stages in Lüneburg, Hamburg and Brussels, he worked as a lawyer in Lüneburg. He is working since 2022 for the ministerial administrative service of the State of Lower Saxony.
