Johanna Grzywotz studied law at Philipps-University Marburg with a focus on public international and european law. After her studies, she became a research assistant to the chair of criminal law, criminal procedural law, international criminal law and public international law (chair holder: Professor Dr. Christoph Safferling, LL.M. (LSE)) at Philipps-University Marburg and subsequently Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg. Her work concentrated on the BITCRIME-Project which dealt with the prevention and prosecution of organized financial crime with virtual currencies. In this context, the dissertation at hand was composed.
