Tobias Winter studied history and German language and literature at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. After the first state examination, this study was written as a dissertation. During this time, he worked at various chairs of the Philosophical Faculty, including as a research assistant at the Department of Economic, Social and Environmental History. Teaching activities on the history of the educated middle classes in the German Empire and the Republic, on Nazi history of science, on biography as a method of historiography and on the history of archival science. Since completing his dissertation in 2017, he works as a project manager in the IT industry.
