After studying Ancient History, Modern History and Sociology at the universities of Avignon, Aix-Marseille, and Tübingen, Chelion Begass obtained her PhD in Modern History from Tübingen University in 2018 with a dissertation on poor Prussian nobles (1770–1830). In 2004–05, she was a Fellow of the Deutsch-Französische Hochschule (»TübAix«) and held a Fritz Stern Fellowship of the Deutsche Nationalstiftung (2016). Since 2011, Chelion Begass is a Research Assistant in Modern History at Tübingen University.
